Setting the Anchor
1. Approach slowly into wind/current
2. Lower anchor, don't throw
3. Back down slowly, paying out rode
4. Set by backing down firmly at 1500+ RPM
Checking the Set
• Take bearings on fixed objects
• Set anchor alarm if equipped
• Feel the rode - it should be taut
• Re-check after tide/wind changes
